Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has succeeded in roping in the services of former South African skipper, Faf du Plessis as the first player during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also left no stone unturned to reclaim their former players. Eventually, CSK withdrew themselves from the bidding war, and RCB bid for Duplessis for just ₹7 crores.
The RCB is expected to pick Faf Du Plessis as their skipper. According to legendary Indian cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar, RCB should pick Glenn Maxwell as their captain in an interview with Sports Tak.

Although Glenn Maxwell does not lead an Australian team, he has the experience of leading a team in the Big Bash League T20 league. In addition, RCB will not be able to lead Faf Duplessis in the future. Gavaskar believes Audrey Maxwell will still have the opportunity to play international cricket and lead the RCB to new heights.
