Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is currently going through the purple patch of his career from past couple of years, which has also been continuing in the South African tour, and even though he could not save a Test series defeat, the Men in Blue have been playing dominating cricket in the ongoing ODI six-match series as they have already taken an unassailable 3-0 lead.

Kohli has as always led from the front in the ODI series, where India lead 3-0. The Indian skipper has been looking in complete comfort in the ODIs and in fact, has scored two centuries too. But the Indian legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar reckons Virat must be careful of one Proteas bowlers when the two teams come face to face at the Wanderers in Johannesburg for the fourth ODI.

In his column for the Times of India, Gavaskar pointed out the good work Kohli has put in but also suggested that there is one South African bowler who could pose a problem or two to the Indian captain.

Gavaskar wrote, “Virat is in sublime form and has shown he is way above other batsmen in the world. His battle with the Proteas Kagiso Rabada is worth going miles to watch and Rabada is the only bowler who the Indian skipper has had to watch out for.”

If Kohli has been excellent for the Indians, one player who can change things around with absolute ease for the hosts is AB de Villiers according to Gavaskar. He wrote, “There is also the not so small matter of the return of AB de Villiers to the South African line-up. The world knows what a game changer de Villiers can be and the Proteas will be hoping that he helps them turn things around and maintain their work record on the Pink day. He himself has played some incredible knocks on Pink days and another one could well be inspirational for the likes of Markram and company.”

Virat Kohli and his men need to win the fourth game in order to seal the ODI series. If they manage to do so then they will become the only second nation after Australia to win a series of five or more matches in the ‘Rainbow Nation’.

India and South Africa will lock horns for the fourth ODI at the Wanderers, Johannesburg, which will also be the Pink ODI. Looking at the past records, the Proteas are yet to lose a ‘Pink ODI’ as they have won on all the five occasions.
