Among the names he mentioned, Ravindra Jadeja looks like a strong contender to lead the team. The team management showed immense faith in him and retained him before IPL 2022 mega auction. CSK will pay Rs 16 crore to him whereas Dhoni will get Rs 12 crore as he was 2nd-choice retention as well.

The youngster like Ruturaj Gaikwad is also in the race. He leads Maharashtra in domestic cricket as well. CSK will begin their IPL 2022 campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders in the first game of the season at Wankhede Stadium on March 26 as well. On the other hand, Suresh Raina will make his commentary debut in IPL 2022. Apart from him, former India head coach, Ravi Shastri too will be seen in the commentary box this season as well. Both of the former players will be doing commentary in Hindi only as 80 commentators will cover the entire league in different languages.
