Explaining his hug to Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, Mumbai Indians’ (MI) batter Suryakumar Yadav terms it as a ‘sweet banter’ and depicted the camaraderie between the two. In the last ball of the 8th over, Chahal used a DRS referral after the on-field umpire didn’t give Yadav out LBW. Replays showed that the ball was just clipping the bails and the umpire’s decision was eventually upheld.

While Yuzvendra Chahal was a tad disappointed, Suryakumar Yadav gave the bowler a warm hug. Yadav was looking in good form, having already smashed five fours. After surviving the scare, SKY managed to play a match-winning knock of 51 off 39 balls. Although he eventually got out to Chahal in the 15th over, he won the Player of the Match award. The 31-year-old Yadav also lauded Chahal for being a quality bowler.

He is a great bowler and I’ve enjoyed having that fight between him and me in the middle.”
