Currently, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are locking horns with Punjab Kings (PBSK) in the 48th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in Sharjah. After winning the toss, the RCB skipper, Virat Kohli decided to bat first and PBKS’ bowlers failed to do much as the RCB openers, Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal amassed 55 runs in the powerplay itself. However, an eye-catching moment took place in the 8th over of the first innings when the PBKS skipper, KL Rahul took a DRS for a caught-behind appeal.

On the third ball of the 8th over, it looked like Padikkal failed to connect the reverse sweep and the ball ended into the keeper’s gloves. The on-field umpire gave it not-out and KL Rahul took the DRS. It was a full-length delivery and Devdutt Padikkal decided to play this behind point but was beaten by the pace and the ball went past the glove on the way to Rahul.

IN the replays, there was a little spike was visible but the TV umpire K Srinivasan says not out! KL Rahul and the fielders are asking the umpire Ananthapadmanabhan why that is not out. The spike was tiny when the ball was near the glove, but it was definitely there. Maybe the umpire thought the sound came from somewhere else and in the end, Punjab lost the review.

Here is the video of the incident:
