Twitterati react on Asha S’ bowling that reminds of Shane Warne

Leg spin is something which attracts fans all over the world and who can be better than the great Shane Warne? However, recently, in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, Asha S, playing for Pondicherry against Saurashtra, produced a Warne-type turn to leave Neha Chavda and everyone stunned as well.

On Wednesday in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, Pondicherry beat Saurashtra by 25 runs at the Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium. Batting first, Pondicherry posted 114/5 and then restricted Saurashtra to 89/8 as well. A disciplined bowling performance, led by Asha S (4-0-7-3), helped Pondicherry to seal the deal after their batters failed to live up to the expectations.

Among Asha’s three wickets, the one that attracted the most attention was the amazing delivery that sent Neha Chavda to the hut. It was the last ball of the 15th over, which pitched at a good length just outside the leg stump, and turned sharply to hit the top of the off stump as well. Chavda tried to defend the ball by coming forward, only to get out as well.

However, Asha was delighted after she got Chavda’s wicket in that manner, and the Pondicherry players were quick to congratulate her after watching her bowl a magical delivery. With the huge similarity between Chavda’s dismissal, Twitterati praised the Pondicherry skipper.
