Five-time world chess champion Viswanathan Anand reckons that the Indian skipper Virat Kohli became a bit emotional and lost control during his “leave India” comment while replying to a fan on social media, which became a controversy later on.

A lot of social media fans slammed Kohli for saying “I don’t think you should live in India” response to a fan who called the skipper overrated while expressing his admiration for English and Australian batsmen and said that he doesn’t like the Indians.

As per the reports in PTI, Anand said, “I think he lost control. He got a bit emotional and he just said the first thing that came to his mind. That’s the attitude he is comfortable with. In sport, you see all characters and this is the character that fits him best. I try to be myself and in the end, you should be comfortable in your own skin.”

Adding further on the same, Anand opined that according to him, Virat might have caught at a weak moment. He explained, ” He might be feeling a bit sensitive and was not in the best mood maybe. That’s my impression. Then he lost control of it. People are emotional and they lose control once in a while. It has happened to me even if I was more successful in not showing it. But there are moments when your emotions take over.”

Anand feels that Kohli has already received immense criticism and the thing is now over. The chess champion also felt that the people who did not like the comment have already criticized the Indian skipper him so no need to keep piling on it.
