Suryakumar Yadav has risen through ranks to make his way into India’s white-ball setup. He will be playing in his first World Cup and Pakistan will be the first team he will face in this journey.

Former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram hailed him, calling him the potential game-changer for India as he plays both sides of the wicket.

“A batsman who will be an impact player in the T20 World Cup is Suryakumar Yadav of India. He plays both on the sides and plays well in pressure situations. He takes the momentum with him and is a game-changer,” said Akram in a video posted on Koo.

Suryakumar Yadav didn’t enjoy a good time with the bat in the UAE. He wasn’t in good nick during the recently-concluded Indian Premier League 2021 for Mumbai Indians. He, though, finished the tournament on a high with a flamboyant 82-run knock. He also looked home during his knock against Australia in the warm-up game.

For Pakistan, Akram feels Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan will be the most impactful batters.

He also lavished praises on India’s mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy, who Akram thinks can pose a great threat to Pakistan.

“Pakistan may have trouble with young off-spinner Varun Chakaravarthy. Pakistan has not seen much of him. I would advise him to sit him and see how he bowls. If he comes in the playing-11, then he can create trouble for Pakistan. Especially the middle order,” added Akram.

India and Pakistan will lock horns on October 24 in Dubai to kick off their respective campaigns.
