MS Dhoni, former India captain, once again in the news but for a different reason. Former India opener Wasim Jaffer recently revealed a secret about him. Jaffer who shared the dressing room with Dhoni during his early days recalled the memories that all he wanted was to “make 30 lakh from playing cricket” so that he could live a happy life in Ranchi. Jaffer, who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket earlier this month, was recently chatting with his fans on Twitter and there he shared this.

However, when Dhoni began his international career in December 2004, nobody including him would have thought that he would go this far and went on to become one of the most successful cricketers as well as most celebrated captains to have played the game of cricket. In fact, like many other players who come from small cities, Dhoni too had minimum ambitions and dreams.

Replying to a fan’s question, who asked Jaffer about his “favourite memory with MS Dhoni”, Jaffer said: “In his 1st or 2nd year in Indian team, I remember he said, he wants to make 30 lakhs from playing cricket so he can live peacefully rest of his life in Ranchi”.

MS Dhoni, who last played for India in July 2019 in the semi-final where India thrashed by New Zealand in the ICC Cricket World Cup, was all set to return to action in the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) which was earlier scheduled to start from March 29. However, the much-awaited cash-rich league was postponed until April 15 due to the increasing number of coronavirus positive cases in the country.

To restrict the spread of the virus, the country is currently under a 21-day complete lockdown. Moreover, the coronavirus pandemic has put a question mark on the fate of this year’s IPL and it wouldn’t be a surprising matter if the league would cancel as well.
