Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell walked out to open the innings for New Zealand while Bhuvneshwar Kumar had the new ball in his hand. Guptill took a single on the second ball to get to the non-striker’s end. Bhuvi bowled a delicious inswinger which castled Mitchell for a golden duck and gave New Zealand an early jolt.

Mitchell played all around the ball and failed to get his bat on the ball as his middle stumps got uprooted.
