India finally commenced their campaign in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on Wednesday. It was a new day and a new tournament with new challenges, but somethings in cricket are permanent- like MS Dhoni taking the bails off in lightning fast speed to stump a batsman.
During India’s encounter against South Africa at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton, fans witnessed another typical Dhoni stumping. Yuzvendra Chahal had done the job to leave Akile Phehlukwayo clueless after stepping out to hit the batsman with the spin. The ball went to MS who effected another quick stumping.
It was not a perfect stumping as Dhoni could not see the ball as he was blinded by the swing of the bat initially. However, he managed to grab the ball after a little wobble. MS was quick on the ball and had a sufficient amount of time to regain his composure. He then quickly too the bails off while Andile was far down the pitch.
Here is the video of the dismissal:

Earlier in the game, the South African skipper had won the toss and decided to bat first in the cloudy conditions. The Proteas lost both their openers Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla inside the first 6 overs itself owing to a brilliant bowling display by the fiery pacer Jasprit Bumrah. After those dismissals, Faf Du Plessis and Rassie Van der Dussen started building a partnership and they even added 54 runs for the third wicket, but all that effort went in vain after the 20th over of Yuzvendra Chahal as he got the wickets of both the batsman.
MS Dhoni fans hailed the stumping with some calling it his ‘first wicket’ in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Dhoni is captaining Kohli on how to captain Rohit Sharma. Nice hierarchy.
