The Big Bash League (BBL) team Brisbane Heat on Monday shared a funny video on their official Twitter account to create much-needed awareness about the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. While there are plenty of videos available on the internet explaining how to wash hands correctly, there is nothing like Brisbane Heat conveyed the important message with a sense of humour. They chose an innovative way to show the awareness to everyone across the globe through their message, they used many clippings from an old match featuring Brisbane Heat stars such as AB de Villiers, Chris Lynn and Marnus Labuschagne, and it became a hilarious video as well.

“Don’t be that person!! Person gesturing not ok. Wash your hands correctly, take care of each other, act responsibly, and most importantly, help stop the spread. #COVID19 #COVID19Aus #coronavirus,” Brisbane Heat captioned the video on Twitter.

Retweeting the video, the Big Bash League wrote: “An important message from @ABdeVilliers17, @lynny50, @marnus3cricket, and the rest of our friends at the @HeatBBL Soap #COVID19”.

The coronavirus pandemic has led various sporting events, including international and domestic cricket, around the world to cancelled. Europe’s top five football leagues have been postponed as well for at least two weeks while the Euro 2020 and this year’s Copa America were also pushed back to the next year.

The virus has also affected the start of the 2020-21 Formula 1 season. Australian GP and Monaco GP were also cancelled while other races including, Vietnam, Bahrain and Chinese GP were also cancelled for the time being. The virus has also left a doubt on the future of Tokyo Olympics which is scheduled to begin on July 24.

Coronavirus has affected not only everyone’s lives but also sporting events across the globe which included the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League as the situation has not changed much in the last few days amid the novel coronavirus pandemic in the country as well as globally.
