The 7th of July is special for every cricket fan as it is the birthday of the former India captain and one of the best finishers in world cricket – MS Dhoni. However, youngster Devdutt Padikkal too shares the same birthday. While the talented batsman is currently in Sri Lanka before the limited-overs series, before cutting the cake, he shared a special birthday wish for Dhoni as well.

Devdutt Padikkal has turned 21 and shared a message on behalf of the tourists before cutting the cake as well. He has wished MS Dhoni, who turned 40 on Wednesday. Padikkal has stated that before cutting the cake, he would like to wish MS Dhoni a happy birthday on behalf of the entire Indian team as he is a massive inspiration to all the youngsters and also added that sharing his birthday with the legend is an honour for him as well.

Meanwhile, Devdutt Padikkal made headlines with his stunning show in this year’s Vijay Hazare Trophy where he scored a handful of runs and finished second right after Prithvi Shaw. And then, he did well while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League 2021. And, he got the reward with the maiden call-up for the Sri Lanka series. Team India will play a three-match One Day International and as many Twenty20 International series against Sri Lanka as well.

Meanwhile, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has once again made headlines on the 40th birthday of former skipper MS Dhoni. Gambhir changed his cover picture on social media on Wednesday where he can be seen in his iconic knock of 97 in the 2011 World Cup final as well.

While both Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni played match-winning knocks in the 2011 World Cup final to help India win the title after 28 years, it was MS Dhoni who hit a six and finished off the job with an unbeaten 91. On the other hand, Gambhir also scored a brilliant 97. But his knock goes unnoticed as Dhoni’s six off Nuwan Kulasekara to win the final has earned iconic status as well.
