Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has never hesitated to do some bhangra even on the cricket field and on Friday, he shook a leg when the Day 1 play of the fifth Test between India and England was underway at the Oval. After a wicketless second session, India finally made their way back into the game as the bowlers picked six wickets in the post-tea session. With the departure of Alastair Cook on 71, the hosts lost five more quick wickets and happy with India’s comeback, Dhawan danced to the crowd’s tunes.

There were a bunch of Indian supporters right behind where Dhawan was fielding and coincidentally, one of the spectators was carrying a dhol and that was enough to temp ‘Gabbar’ to entertain to the Indian fans.

Watching Dhawan dance, another Punjabi in the commentary box, Harbhajan Singh, who has become a popular face in the English commentary team for Sky Sports, made the English broadcasters dance to his beats- literally. Harbhajan made veteran commentator David ‘Bumble’ Llyod do the bhangra in the commentary box on Friday. Here are the videos of the same:

Prior to the five-match series, India played Essex in a three-day practice match. On the final day of the Essex game, there were a few people called to welcome the Indian players on the field by playing the drums (dhols). Since a lot of Indian players hail from the Northern side of India, it was a great gesture to make the touring team feel more homely.
