Sunrisers Hyderabad players are all set ahead of their IPL 2022 opener against the Rajasthan Royals, which will take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on March 29. However, they have a balanced side this time around after having bought some quality players at the two-day mega auction, including Nicholas Pooran.
Meanwhile, two of their key players Pooran and India’s emerging pace sensation Umran Malik were seen having fun banter during the nets. they were having a net session under the guidance of head coach Tom Moody and that is when Pooran decided to give an open challenge to Umran Malik. “If you bowl a yorker (next ball), I will buy you dinner”, said Pooran as per the bet. However, he also mentioned that if the youngster fails to bowl a yorker, then the onus will be on him to treat Pooran for dinner.

“Promise?”, asked Umran Malik before he charged in to bowl the next ball. However, Nicholas Pooran won the bet as Umran couldn’t bowl a yorker, and instead, it turned out to be a juicy full-toss after which Pooran asked him about the sponsored dinner for the night as he won the bet and the bowler also agreed too.

However, Umran Malik was retained by SRH for IPL 2022 along with the likes of skipper Kane Williamson and his Jammu and Kashmir teammate Abdul Samad. He has been getting INR 4 crore. The speedster had grabbed headlines in the 2021 season having bowled in excess of 150 kmph.

Pooran, on the other hand, has been bought by the 2016 winners for INR 10.75 crore. The Orange Army had finished at the rock bottom last season and would be hoping to go all the way this time around.
