In fact, Jadeja’s inclusion was met with a loud cheer among fans, who eagerly wanted to see him in the Blues after his spat with Manjrekar on Twitter.ย  The latter was seen changing his views instantly for Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, after brilliant by Jadeja in the ongoing match against Sri Lanka.

Aakash Chopra asked the question about the inclusion of Jadeja in the game. Manjrekar said, โ€œYes, I already told that Jadeja deserve each and every match in this World Cup due to his both batting and bowling ability.โ€

Here is the clip of that video:

It all began whenย Manjrekar called Jadeja a โ€˜bits and piecesโ€™ player and said like he doesnโ€™t like the player of his quality. The commentator said that he considered the all-rounder as a pure bowler in Test cricket, but he has not been the same in ODIs. The words made Jadeja furious as he slammed the veteran commentator, highlighting the number of matches both has played over their career. While Jadeja has played 151 ODIs, 41 Tests and 40 T20Is for the Men in Blue at the highest level, Manjrekar had donned the national jersey in 37 Tests and 74 ODIs. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea. @sanjaymanjrekar”.

Even the broadcasters constantly had the cameras stuck on Jadeja and even attributed “Jadeja’s influence” on the field that helped Jasprit Bumrah scalping Sri Lanka’s first wicket.

After saying that he was not a fan of “bits and pieces player”, which in his view Ravindra Jadeja is at this moment in his career, Manjrekar decided to include the all-rounder in his India playing XI for World Cup 2019 semi-finals. Manjrekar tweeted his India XI after after Ravindra Jadeja’s fine bowling performance against Sri Lanka on Saturday.

When Jadeja came out to bowl his first over, he deceived Kusal Mendis in the 11th over and MSDhoni completed a routine stumping.ย It was a moment everyone had been unwittingly waiting since Jadeja’s arrival in the team. Manjrekar, who was seated in the commentary box, couldn’t help but heap praises on the all-rounder.
