Team India is currently locking horns with the Windies for the second ODI of the ongoing five-match series in Guwahati. After winning the toss, the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli decided to bat first and they dropped the young Khaleel Ahmed. Similar to the Asia Cup, the men in blue decided to field with three specialist spinners in the XI with the inclusion of  Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja. However, they were reduced to 40/2 in the 9th over after the dismissal of Rohit Sharman and Shikhar Dhawan early in the innings.

After the early blows, Team India cruised decently as Kohli along with Ambati Rayudu stitched a partnership of around 140 runs for the third wicket. After Rayudu’s dismissal, Virat completed 10,000 ODI runs and completed the fastest batsman to do so. However, he unleashed himself after scoring his 37th ODI century, especially in the 47th over of the game which was bowled by the debutant Abed McCoy.

On the second ball of the over, Kohli smashed a roaring six down the ground over the long-on boundary on a length delivery. With that hit he got past 1000 ODI runs in 2018 in just 11 innings. He broke his own record of 15 innings. On the next balls, Kohli took a double by playing a pull shot towards the field at short leg.
