On Sunday, Virat Kohli and his men registered a dominating win of 89 runs over Pakistan at the Old Trafford in Manchester. It was the Men in Blue’s seventh consecutive victory over their arch-rivals in the ICC World Cup. It was a marquee clash of the tournament and a number of celebrities from India and Pakistan graced their presence at the venue.

The flamboyant popular Bollywood actor, Ranveer Singh is currently shooting for the movie 83, which is base on India’s triumphant 1983 World Cup was also at the stadium. The actor with a swagger of his own even met Indian cricketers and was also seen hugging Kohli. After Kohli’s men’s resounding triumph, the 33-year-old Ranveer was extremely happy. He also hailed them and captain Kohli as the ‘undisputed best in the world’.

Ranveer went on to upload pictures with Kohli and wrote, “I’ve been a die-hard fan of Indian cricket since childhood. Invested so much emotion into our beloved team. Willing and wanting them to be the undisputed best in the world. And then, there was VIRAT KOHLI,”.

After losing the toss and being asked in to bat first, the Indian team racked up a mammoth 336 for the loss of five wickets in 50 overs. Rohit Sharma’s 140 along with KL Rahul and Kohli’s fifties India post the significant score on the board. Even Hardik Pandya chipped in with 26 off 19 that propelled the Men in Blue’s score. For Pakistan, Mohammad Amir picked up three wickets.

During the run-chase, Vijay Shankar drew the first blood for Indian by dismissing Imam-ul-Haq early. Later on, chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav removed Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman both of them and from there on, there was no stopping the Men in Blue. There was a rain interruption after the 35th over of the Pakistan innings and after the resumption, they needed 302 off 40 overs. It meant that the Men in Green had to score an impossible 136 off 30 balls. By then the game was all over bar the shouting.
