Despite the fact that the Indian team failed to qualify for the final, the all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja was in no mood of giving up as he brought a smile on the millions of Indian fans. He came out to bat when India was down to 92/6 and after that, the all-rounder revived India’s hopes in the semifinal against New Zealand when everything looks lost. Not many would have thought of the game going close after New Zealand reduced India to 92 for 6 while defending 239 on a two-paced Manchester pitch.

However, the complexion of the game changed in a blink of an eye with Jadeja deciding to smash the Kiwi bowlers. Coming out to bat at number eight, Jadeja went on to score 77 from 59 balls. As usual, MS Dhoni was more than happy to deal in singles but Jadeja kept on attacking the bowlers to keep the required rate under check.

It did not matter whether he was facing spin or pace, the all-rounder was playing like he is having a different pitch to bat on which gave the Indian fans something to cheer about. Jadeja’s knock was studded with four fours and as many sixes. That only two more sixes were hit in the game tells the story of how just how good Jadeja was. However, with India needing 37 more runs, Jadeja failed to time his shot and was departed after playing arguably his best knock.

Dhoni tried for a while but a run-out in the penultimate over as India were all out for 221. Before his heroics with the bat, Jadeja was impressive with the ball as well. He had picked up 1 wicket while conceding just 34 runs off 10 overs. The southpaw had also affected a stunning run out in addition to picking up a stunning catch.

Taking to Twitter after the game, Jaddu wrote: “Sports has taught me to keep on rising after every fall & never to give up. Can’t thank enough each & every fan who has been my source of inspiration. Thank you for all your support. Keep inspiring & I will give my best till my last breath. Love you all.”
