Team India registered a close win over West Indies in the second ODI match by a couple of wickets to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. While batting first, West Indies managed to post a commanding total of 311 runs on the board which the Indian team successfully chased down with 2 balls to spare. Axar Patel was adjudged the player of the match for his brilliant performance with both bat and ball (64 runs and 1 wicket).

However, the final game of the series will be played at the same venue, in Port of Span, and the veteran all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja will be expected to make a comeback, after recovering from the injury. The likes of Arshdeep Singh and Ishan Kishan will also be expected to get a chance. On the other hand, West Indies are not expected to make any changes and will play with their full strength.

In the upcoming match, West Indies will still search for their maiden win in this series while India will look for another victory to white-wash them. India is currently standing third on the ICC Men’s ODI rankings while West Indies is placed ninth on the list. India and West Indies have locked horns with each other in 138 ODIs so far. Out of these games, India has won 68 whereas West Indies have come out victorious on 63 occasions.

With a thin squad, West Indies are unlikely to make any changes to their XI. Jason Holder missed the first couple of matches so far with Covid and it is unlikely he would have recovered in time for this encounter.

Probable XI: Shai Hope (WK), Kyle Mayers, Shamarh Brooks, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran (C), Rovman Powell, Akeal Hosein, Romario Shepherd, Alzarri Joseph, Jayden Seales, Hayden Walsh

Ravindra Jadeja was expected to be fit for this game but it is highly unlikely that the team management will drop Axar Patel after his player-of-the-match performance. Jadeja could be preserved for the T20Is but if they decide to play him, he might also replace Yuzvendra Chahal. Arshdeep Singh could get a look in as well in place of Avesh Khan who failed to do much in the second ODI in the second ODI.

Probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan (C), Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson (WK), Deepak Hooda, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan/Arshdeep Singh
