Team India will be commencing their quest towards upcoming the T20 World Cup as will lock horns with West Indies in the first of three T20Is, held in Florida. Both sides have comprised of some of the youngsters with the likes of Rahul Chahar and John Campbell can be players to look out for.
In spite of India having a formidable top four, West Indies can become some serious threat to the Indian team with T20 specialists Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard set to feature for them. The last time these two teams locked horns in Florida, KL Rahul and Evin Lewis smashed centuries in the first game while rain played spoilsport in the other.
With the boundaries being too small at the venue, scores of 200 are a common sight with India and West Indies scoring 240 in 2016. The bowlers will have to be right on the money as the margin for error is very less at this ground. Here are some of the predictions for the game:
The team will feature some of the veterans like Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine will be making an international comeback. They will get some apt support from Evin Lewis and two of West Indies’ best youngsters in Shimron Hetmyer and Nicolas Pooran. While Russell’s fitness is still a major doubt, they will be expecting some firepower from Keemo Paul and Carlos Brathwaite as they are capable of clearing the boundaries at will. Sheldon Cottrell will spearhead the bowling unit along with the raw pace of Oshane Thomas.

With Shikhar Dhawan returning from injury, he is set to open the innings with Rohit Sharma. Rahul has happy memories at this venue and is expected to bat at number three with Virat dropping down. One of Shreyas Iyer and Krunal Pandya expected to bat in the middle order while Rishabh Pant will be the first choice keeper in all formats. Washington Sundar should be given a game given the number of left-handers in the West Indies team while Deepak Chahar and Khaleel Ahmed can be expected to share the new ball.
