Mumbai Indians’ director of cricket, Zaheer Khan has revealed that the flamboyant all-rounder, Hardik Pandya is very important for the team. He also ensured that the 27-year-old will soon be seen bowling for MI. Zaheer acknowledged West Indies stalwart Kieron Pollard as the sixth bowler for MI.

In a virtual press conference, Zaheer Khan said, “Hardik as a whole package is of great value. You will see him bowl very soon. Pollard is our sixth bowling option. He is an experienced campaigner in our squad. Also, Hardik too joins the fray whenever he resumes.”

Opener Chris Lynnha also revealed that Hardik had a shoulder niggle because of which the latter didn’t bowl in the match. The Gujarat-born was seen underarming his throws while fielding.

Describing the same, Chris Lynn said, “I’m not a hundred percent sure but it’s a bit of a shoulder niggle. I think Hardik Pandya, not bowling is maybe more precautionary. He’s played a fair bit of cricket leading up to this tournament, in which he has to play (minimum) 14 games as well. He is a huge factor with the bat but if he gets bowling, then it adds another dimension to the team. I do believe if Hardik is bowling then it brings out confidence in his batting as well.”
Zaheer Khan was also full of praises for other MI stars like Chris Lynn, Ishan Kishan, and Piyush Chawla.

Talking about the same, Zaheer Khan said, “Chris Lynn is a great character to have in the dressing room. Ishan Kishan is looking assured now. He has flourished from last season. Spending time in the nets and following the same processes. Piyush Chawla’s experience will be valuable to us, going ahead in the tournament.”
