Former Indian left-arm fast-medium bowler, Zaheer Khan, retired from cricket as one of India’s top new-ball bowlers. Zaheer made his ODI debut against Kenya at Nairobi in 2000 and followed it up with a Test debut against Bangladesh a month later at Dhaka.

In a career which spanned close to 14 years at the highest level, Zaheer clinched 610 wickets across formats, thus becoming the fourth-highest wicket-taker for India, behind Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and Kapil Dev.

In what was India’s maiden T20I, he made his T20I debut against South Africa at Johannesburg in 2006. He bowled an impressive spell, which read 4-0-15-2, as South Africa were restricted to 126-9 in 20 overs after Graeme Smith won the toss and chose to bat.
