Former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli will be playing his 100th Test match at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali behind closed doors, as the Punjab Cricket Association CEO Deepak Sharma confirmed that no fans will be allowed in the first Test between India and Sri Lanka, starting March 4.
Notably, Kohli will be playing his 100th Test match under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, who will be leading the Indian team for the first time in Test cricket. India will be locking horns with Sri Lanka in the first of the two-match Test series in Mohali, while the second Test match will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
As per the quotes in ANI, Punjab Cricket Association CEO Deepak Sharma said, “The first Test between India and Sri Lanka will be played behind closed doors with no spectators allowed.”

After India’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of South Africa in the away series, Kohli decided to resign as the Test captain. He had stepped down as the Test captain after becoming India’s most successful skipper in Test cricket.
Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, Team India won 40 games out of 68. He has the fourth-best winning percentage after Steve Waugh, Don Bradman, and Ricky Ponting. Under his leadership, Kohli contested the final of the ICC World Test Championship in 2021.
