The 2018 Women’s World T20 is the sixth edition of Women’s World T20 that is hosted by West Indies from November 9 to 24, 2018. Total 10 teams are going to participate in this tournament.
It will be the first ever ICC Women’s World T20 where the Umpire Decision Review System (UDRS) will be used as each team will have one review to use.
West Indies is the first host to organise this tournament for the second time while they had hosted this tournament in 2010. A total of 10 teams are going to participate in this tournament. Apart from the hosts and the defending champion West Indies, Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka have automatically qualified for this tournament, while Bangladesh (champion in qualifier) and Ireland (runner-up in qualifier) have finished in the top 2 positions of the qualifier tournament in this July to qualify for this tournament.
The 10 teams have been equally divided into two groups. West Indies, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are in Group A and Australia, India, Pakistan, New Zealand and Ireland are in Group B. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals will meet in the final of the competition on 24 November 2018 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (North Sound).
The tournament will be played in a total of three venues – Guyana National Stadium (Providence, Guyana), Darren Sammy Cricket Ground (Gros Islet, St. Lucia) and Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (North Sound, Antigua).
