4. Lasith Malinga (28 wickets, 2011)

Sri Lanka’s ‘Slinga Malinga’ has always been expected to be a great bowler in the shortest format of the game. He has been the most threatening death bowler in the IPL’s history. With his slingy action and an ability to bowl consistent toe-crushing yorkers at the death, Malinga is one of those bowlers, whom most of the batsmen don’t want to face.

Malinga’s cheap bowling often produced crucial wickets in almost every game he plays. Representing Mumbai Indians in the IPL, Malinga bagged as many as 28 wickets in the 2011 season at an astonishing average of 13.39 and an exceptional economy of 5.95. His best was an excellent 5-13.
