5. Daniel Vettori (2012)
In a nail-biter game between New Zealand and Zimbabwe, during Daniel Vettori’s over, a Zimbabwe batsman tried to take a single, and Vettori was in his follow up the stride and unknowingly came in the way of the batsman, and by then the non-striker was too far down the pitch to adjust. The keeper took the bails off, and he was declared out. Vettori decided to take back the appeal, and the batsman was asked to return.
Talking about the same, he said, “It was the right thing to do at the time and we as a team try and play with the right spirit of cricket. It’s hard to define the spirit of cricket, but go out on the field with the general mindset to play the game in the right way and always in the right frame of mind.”
