Although cricket has always been known as a gentleman’s game, still mistakes do happen by some cricketers. Bollywood and cricket always go hand-in-hand and speculations of relations of cricketers with Bollywood celebrities isn’t a new thing at all. Cricketers lifestyle is surrounded by rumors, breakups and lost of problems which get created unknowingly.
But, there were some relationships of cricketing celebrities which didn’t last long and ended up in a breakup. Here are 5 such relationships of International cricketers which lasted for a while and later on they broke up:
Yuvraj Singh and Kim Sharma
India’s world-cup winning all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was in a relationship with Mohabbatein actress Kim Sharma for a period of around 4 years but it came to an end in 2007. Some reports claimed that Yuvraj’s mother, Shabnam Singh, didn’t like Kim, while, some reports blamed the obsessive behavior of Kim towards Yuvraj. Later, Kim was quoted saying that they had compatibility issues. It was one of the most popular breakups in Indian cricket.
Michael Clarke and Lara Bingle
Former Australian skipper was in a relationship with his swimsuit model Lara Bingle but their engagement was called off in March 2010. Obviously, the relationship could not confront the model’s nude photo scandal.
Zaheer Khan and Isha Sharvani
It had been speculated that former India fast bowlers Zaheer Khan and dancer-actress Isha Sharvani was in a relationship for 8 years which came to an end in April 2012.
However, talking about the relation, Sharvani said, “I am single today. Yes, we were together for many years. But it is all over between Zaheer and me now.”
Mohammad Azharuddin and Sangeeta Bijlani
Former India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin separated from his second wife, model and actress Sangeeta Bijlani after being together for 14 years. Azhar’s closing relations with badminton star Jwala Gutta was expected to be the reason behind the split. It was one of the most talked about breakups in cricketing fraternity.
MS Dhoni and Raai Laxmi
One of the most successful Indian skippers MS Dhoni was also temporarily belabored by south Indian actress Raai Laxmi in 2008. Talking about the fling, Raai said: “I was the brand ambassador for the team that he was a part of and we were together for less than a year. We had never committed to each other and never thought of getting married either. It didn’t work for us, so we moved on.”
Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley
In December 2013, legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne and actress Elizabeth Hurley announced the end of their relationship in a tweet. The tweet read: “The past should be the past & stay there. It destroys the future. Live life for what tomorrow has to offer, not for what happened yesterday.”
Brett Lee and Elizabeth Kemp
Former Australian pacer Brett Lee got separated with Elizabeth Kemp, a former podiatrist, in August 2008 after being married to her for two years. Speculations were made that Kemp’s alleged relationship with a high-profile rugby player was the reason for the split.
Virat Kohli and Izabelle Leite
Indian skipper Virat Kohli grabbed a lot of eyeballs when he dated Brazilian model and actress Izabelle Leite. Izabelle has been a part of Bollywood movies like ‘Sixteen’ and ‘Purani Jeans’. It was one of teh breakups of Kohli’s flamboyant lifestyle. Now, he is hanging out with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma since 2014.
Even in one of her interviews, Izabelle admitted: “Virat was one of the first Indian friends I had when I came to India. We were dating for quite a while. We were together for almost two years. But we didn’t want to make it public. So yeah, Virat and I did have a relationship.”
