On April 23, Royal Challengers Bangalore amassed an unimaginable 236/5, riding on Chris Gayle’s knock of a blistering unbeaten 175 runs in that game. Chris Gayle tore apart Pune Warriors India attack and broke numerous records during the process. Chris Gayle brought up the highest individual score in the history of T20 cricket. His record remains intact even after seven long years as it still remains the highest total in the history of the IPL.

God bless the commentators who had to define Gayle’s innings doing a ball by ball commentary to the run-fest. Sixes rained at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium as Gayle’s created records From the fastest T20 century to the highest individual score in T20, Gayle’s 17 sixes were also a record within itself.

Ali Murtaza was smacked for 45 off two and every PWI move proved unsuccessful as Chris Gayle couldn’t stop hitting the ball out of the park. With all bowlers failing,  skipper Aaron Finch decided to roll up up him. It came to no avail as the skipper also conceded for 29 runs.

Chris Gayle broke Andrew Symonds’ record of the fastest ever hundred by hitting a six that sailed over the stadium. He celebrated it with style by going down on his knees and soaking in all the praise from the spectators.

After Kohli’s dismissal, AB de Villiers joined Gayle to add more fuel to the fire in which the PWI were burning. Gayle and Mr 360 stitched a quickfire 31 runs partnership in just 2 overs. Surprisingly de Villiers was the dominant one during the knock amongst those two.

With a strong grip on the game, The RCB rode on Gayle’s swashbuckling knock to deliver a positive result for themselves in the match. Restricting the PWI to 133 runs, RCB scalped nine wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.  The only highlight from any Pune Warriors India end would be Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. While Gayle carnage was going on, Bhuvi conceded only 23 runs in his 4 overs.
