Dinesh Chandimal Picks Indian Duo in All Time Test 11

With no cricket going on, all the cricketers have a lot of free time on their hands right now. Many cricketers have also been proactive on their social media in the past few weeks due to the lockdown. On Tuesday, former Sri Lanka skipper Dinesh Chandimal enticed his fans and picked his all-time Test XI.

The former Sri Lankan keeper took to Twitter and shared his list of 11 players he considers the best for test cricket. His list 2 Indians, in cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar and Current Indian team skipper Virat Kohli.

The 30-year-old former Lankan cricketer picked India legend Sachin Tendulkar and former England captain, Alastair Cook, as his openers. Chandimal has left the No 3 slot for former Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara. With Kohli batting in at no 4, Chandimal has sandwiched Former West Indian skipper Brian Lara between Kohli and another former Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardena.

Following up after Mahela Jayawardena, Chandimal’s squeezed inFormer South African allrounder Jacques Kallis as his number 6 player before moving on to the bowling department. Chandimal decided to go with a Sri Lankan heavy bowling attack as South African speedster Dale Steyn is the only non-Sri Lankan to feature in the attack.  Chandimal pairs up Dale Steyn with former Lankan speedster Chaminda Vaas. Lanka’s spin duo of Rangana Herath and Murali Muralitharan are the 2 spinners who complete Chandimal’s 11.

Unsurprisingly so, Chandimal’s XI is filled with five players from Sri Lanka. His list also consisted of 2 players from South Africa and India. A certain Englishman and a West Indies great also feature in Chandinal’s list.
