India’s Board of Cricket Control in India(BCCI) treasurer Arun Dhumal has commented on the possibility of rescheduling IPL. He adds that the BCCI isn’t thinking about rescheduling on a window for IPL this year. He adds that any decision on the same will be taken only after cricket resumes.
Originally scheduled to begin on March 29, the IPL was postponed until April 15 due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus. However, the BCCI has later postponed the tournament for an indefinite period due to the rising number of positive cases of COVID-19 affected people.

Earlier, There were reports suggesting that the Asia Cup and ICC T20 World Cup are like to be canceled. BCCI was expected to hold IPL in that same October-November window. He also added how difficult it travel will be for the international players to come to India amid the travel restrictions.
Speaking with The Sydney Morning Herald, Dhumal said, “We haven’t planned anything as of now. We can’t think of IPL getting back yet.”
He added, “Players coming in from other countries, whether they’ll be willing to come here and be quarantined for two weeks and play IPL is not known. How can we think of IPL? This is all media speculation. There is nothing as of now. Once things get clear, then only will we be able to go back to the drawing board and think about re-starting cricket.”
Dhumal also shared on the various factors other than logistics that suggest the difficulty seeing the T20 World Cup happen in October-November.
“They (players) will have been out of cricket for a long time. Would you want to be without training for that long and straight away go and play [the] World Cup? That is a call every board has to take. It seems to be difficult,” he said.

Earlier, the BCCI Treasurer suggested that BCCI may add more matches to India’s tour of Australia under later this year. Dhumal says this will give a chance for other nations teams to earn money through their TV deals. Many sporting bodies are in financial turmoil due to the cancellation of sporting events.
