The veteran Indian off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin seems to be impressed with Pakistan’s limited over captain Babar Azam and asserted that the latter definitely has a bright future. Ashwin said Babar Azam’s comparison with the Indian skipper,  Virat Kohli will put the former under a lot of pressure which is quite unfair to comparatively less experienced players.

Terming Kohli as one of the finest cricketers Ashwin opined that Babar’s time to take over the world cricket would come too.

Ashwin also recalled Babar Azam’s century during Pakistan’s tour of Australia in 2019. Babar had put on a gutsy show even though his team lost the game by an innings margin in the match. The Lahore-born has smashed 104 runs off 255 balls in the 2nd innings of Brisbane Test. His innings included 13 scintillating boundaries.

As per the quotes in ARY sports, Ashwin said, “I really enjoy Babar Azam’s batting. I watched the century he scored in Australia. Comparisons with Virat Kohli will put pressure on him, which is unfair. Kohli is one of the finest cricketers the world has produced. I am sure Babar’s time will come too.”
