Last year, in October, the veteran Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell opened up about his mental issues and his struggle with depression. The veteran cricket announced a sabbatical after playing a fiery knock of 64 off 29 against Sri Lanka, in Adelaide, in a T20I, and decided to sit out of the series. Maxwell only came back during the 2019-20 season of Big Bash League (BBL) for Melbourne Stars.
The 31-year-old Maxwell is now in the UAE, playing for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He announced his engagement to Australia-based Indian pharmacist Vini Raman earlier this year in February. Naturally, a lot of color-based comments on social media occurred given the low mentality of the common crowd.

A troll on Instagram got under the skin of Vini Raman as she posted a photo with Maxwell while he is in UAE. The man wrote nasty things about the Australian cricketer on Instagram and Raman had no intention of holding back. It’s troubling to see what lengths trolls on social media will go to gain some attention. The man had no shame speaking of race and insulting Maxwell’s mental health just to get a response from the celebrity couple.
Commenting on her Instagram story, Vini Raman said, “So, I normally don’t respond to comments like these as I know trolls do it just to get attention. But a 6-month lockdown has left me with plenty of time to educate ignorant morons. Loving someone of different skin color doesn’t make you a sell-out. Loving a white person doesn’t mean I’m embarrassed to be an Indian. Loving a white person is my choice and I shouldn’t have to worry about what others will think.”

Maxwell shared a screenshot of both comments on his Instagram story and gave a shout out to his Indian fiancee for hitting back the man with the ‘troubled white guy’ comment.
