Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has asserted that Bhuvneshwar Kumar can play a crucial role against Sri Lanka citing his abilities to swing the ball both ways. He also suggested that for the Eden Gardens Test, which will start on Thursday, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, based on the pitch, should be included in the team.
After playing the limited over series against Australia and New Zealand, Bhuvi will now feature in the 3-match Test series against the Islanders which is scheduled to start On Thursday in Kolkata.
Ganguly has insisted that the Bhuvi could have a major say in the series opener which will be played at Eden Gardens. He said, “The ball will swing and Bhuvi will be very difficult to tackle on this track which may have a tinge of green. He swings the ball both ways and he could be a key bowler.”
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president also advised that India should include three pacers for tomorrow’s game. He said, “I’d play three pacemen on this track. Mohammed Shami will be the hit-the-deck bowler while Umesh Yadav’s pace will be important too.”
