The first Test between India and England will be commencing on Friday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium and it will be the first international match in India after nearly a year. Recently, the hosts registered a stunning win against Australia, despite the unavailability of Virat Kohli. With the Indian captain back following his paternity leave, they seem complete to lock horns with the Englishmen in the four-match Test series.

Although the hosts will be missing the services of Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami, they have enough firepower to give Joe Root and co. a run for their money. On the other hand, the Brits recently clean-swept Sri Lanka in their own den. Joe Root was at his sublime best as he and it helped them to register a historic series win.

However, the challenge of the mighty Indians is a class apart for the English men. India will walk into the series as the hot favorites and would be eyeing to seal their spot in the final of the World Test Championship 2021. But, the English cannot be taken lightly at all with a well-balanced roster at their disposal. With two quality sides taking center-stage in Chepauk, an entertaining start to the Test series beckons come Friday.

Wicket-Keepers

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant seems to be a better pick as he has been known for making a strong comeback and he will be much more effective on pitches in Chennai. However, for England, Jos Buttler will be keeping the wickets as he is known for playing match-winning knocks, but in order to maintain the balance of the Fantasy XI, Pant seems the better pick.

Batsmen

Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Joe Root, and Dom Sibley have always been the prime contenders for fantasy cricket. Even, Rohit Sharma also is added in fantasy cricket and that will depend on the balance of the squad. Apart from them, there are some useful batsmen in the line-ups as well, like Shubman Gill, and Rory Burns.

There are some really reliable all-rounders in both teams but citing the pitch in Chennai, R Ashwin, Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes seems to be the perfect fit. Apart from them, the good all-rounder for fantasy cricket are Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel.

Bowlers
