Usain Bolt Bolt Challenges Kohli And De Villiers Donning RCB Jersey

With the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) scheduled to be commencing in a day, the buzz around the T20 league is certainly peaking. On Wednesday, decorated Olympian and legendary sprinter Usain Bolt took to social media, donning a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) jersey.

Having played cricket at school, Usain Bolt has been known to be an ardent follower of the sport over the years. On Wednesday, he posted a picture of him donning the RCB jersey and sent a message to the franchise, its captain Virat Kohli and star all-rounder AB de Villiers.

Captioning the picture, Bolt tweeted, “Challengers, just letting you know, I’m still the fastest cat around.” AB de Villiers too replied to Bolt’s post, saying: “We know whom to call when we need a few extra runs!” Only recently, RCB signed popular apparel manufacturers PUMA as their official kit sponsors. Notably, Bolt has also been endorsing the brand for quite some time now. 

Virat Kohli also replied as he tweeted, “No doubt and that’s why we’ve got you on our team now Raising hands @usainbolt @pumacricket”.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is gearing up for the upcoming IPL 2021 with a settled core and some exciting new additions. Virat Kohli and his men came up with an improved showing in IPL 2020 in the UAE wherein they reached the playoffs for the first time in 4 years.

RCB has been training in Chennai ahead of the IPL 2021. The likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers who were serving their mandatory quarantine periods upon their arrival in the South Indian city have finally joined the rest of the squad in the bio-bubble. All eyes will be on Glenn Maxwell as the Australian all-rounder looks to improve his IPL reputation after having been bought for a whopping prize of ₹14.25 crores at the IPL 2021 auction.

The Bangalore-based franchise will be looking to build on the good show and go a step further in IPL 2021. They take on Mumbai Indians, the defending champions, in the season opener in Chennai on Friday, April 9.
