The 9th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will be played between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. MI has the chance of winning the IPL title for the third consecutive time after they snatched a win from the jaws of defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Although MI’s middle-order has struggled in IPL 2021, their bowling attack has been nothing but a disappointment. While Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult continue to work wonders, Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya had a phenomenal outing in the game against KKR holds them in good stead.

With the likes of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav looking in some good form in recent times, MI is looking to go big this season as well. As for their opponents on Saturday, SRH has lost both their games in the IPL 2021. While they had a fighting chance in both games, their fragile middle-order succumbed against Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The usual suspects, David Warner, and Rashid Khan, have continued to impress, but they will be expecting more out of Manish Pandey, who has scored runs at a very slow pace.

With a decent bowling attack in place, SRH will require to win the game in order to climb up the order at the IPL 2021 points table. However, the Sunrisers will enter this fixture as underdogs, given MI’s superior batting firepower. But one may argue that the pitch in Chennai is more suited to the bowling attack of the Sunrisers, which boasts one of the premium spinners in Rashid Khan. Either way, both teams should put in their best efforts to win the match. However, a fan will expect a cracking game of IPL 2021 cricket beckons in Chennai on Saturday.

MI isn’t expected to make any changes to their playing XI, as SRH has been struggling to chase down scores in the recent past, and against Mumbai’s bowling attack things will only get difficult. However, Manish Pandey, who is struggling to score quickly has previously dominated against Jasprit Bumrah (52 runs in 25 balls – without ever getting dismissed).

Probable XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieran Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Marco Jansen, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah
