Cheluvamba Devi, The mother of Indian women cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy has died due to the global pandemic novel COVID-19. The middle-order batter has took to Twitter and tweeted about her mother’s death on Saturday.
“Appreciate all the messages I have received about the loss of my Amma. As you can imagine my family is lost without her. We now pray for my sister. I have tested negative & appreciate if you can respect our privacy. My thoughts & prayers go out to those going through the same!,” Veda wrote.

Veda Krishnamurthy is a key player of the Indian women’s cricket team and has played for the country in both the ODIs and T20Is. She had made her debut for Indian in a T20I match against Australia in June 2011 and since then, he has been a key member of the team as well. The Bengaluru-based cricketer has so far played 48 ODIs and 76 T20Is and scored 829 and 875 runs in both the formats respectively.
