Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders are going head-to-head in the 25th match of the Indian Premier League 2021. Rishabh Pant won yet another toss and asked KKR to bat first keeping the dew factor in mind. While KKR are coming into this game with a win, DC lost their last game against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
KKR got out to a decent start and were looking good to post a mammoth total. However, DC spinner Lalit Yadav changed the momentum of the game with his two-wicket over. He first dismissed KKR skipper Eoin Morgan for a second-ball duck before dismissing Sunil Narine for a golden duck.

Narine was the chief contributor in this game last year when he scored 64 runs off just 32 balls. However, he couldn’t replicate his heroics from the last year and got clean bowled by the off-spinner. DC head coach Ricky Ponting was awe-struck by Lalit Yadav’s dismissal of Narine. The cameras were quick in spotting his reaction.
Twitterati reacted to Ponting’s expression. Here are some tweets;

Parth Jindal and Ricky Ponting have completely transformed this franchise, DC now one of the big guns in IPL, this should really teach a lesson to the other franchises.

Shubhman Gill was batting well for KKR and scored 43 runs but didn’t get much assistance from the other end. When he got out, KKR were reeling at 82/5 in 13 overs. However, Andre Russell was still at the crease and he took over from there. Russell’s 27-ball innings yielded 45 runs, where he hit two fours and four towering sixes. Russell’s flamboyant innings took KKR’s total to 154/6 in 20 overs.

Lalit Yadav bowled an exceptional spell. He conceded just 13 runs in his three overs while taking the prized scalps of Morgan and Narine. Axar Patel also dismissed two batsmen – Nitish Rana and Dinesh Karthik. If DC chases down the target, they will move to second place at the points table overtaking RCB by the virtue of better net run rate.
