A Big Change Made In The Indian Squad For The WTC Final

In the latest development, the young wicket-keeper batsman KS Bharat has also been included in the Indian squad flying off to the UK to take part in the WTC final against New Zealand. He will be traveling with the men’s squad for the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship followed by the five-match Test series against England.

It will be quite interesting to see which team managed to win the maiden WTC final. India and New Zealand are in sensational form in Tests and it is going to be an interesting battle between the cricketing giants. The WTC final is scheduled to be held in Southampton, England on June 18. Meanwhile, KS Bharat has also be included in the squad as the cover for Wriddhiman Saha who just recovered from coronavirus. Saha contracted the virus infection during the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Saha recovered in time to enter the bio-bubble in Mumbai before flying off to the UK on June 2. However, the BCCI has decided to include Bharat in the squad considering COVID-19 protocols and guidelines.

Describing the same as the Speaking to news agency ANI, sources said, “He was added as cover for Saha considering he was still recovering from the virus and wicket-keeping is a specialized job. If Saha wasn’t fit in time, we would have needed a second keeper in the squad for the tour which is a three-month-long one.”

Meanwhile, the BCCI has made an infallible plan for the national team before they fly to the UK to play the WTC final against New Zealand and the five-match Test series against England. BCCI has left no stone unturned in making all the necessary arrangements for all the players to undergo 3 RT-PCR tests before assembling in Mumbai in charter planes.
