International Cricket Council (ICC) is celebrating the achievements of veteran Indian spinner Anil Kumble as he was in the ICC Hall of Fame month. The international cricket council took to Instagram and posted with the caption: “Next on #ICCHallOfFame we have one of the greatest bowlers of all time, India spinner Anil Kumble. The third-leading wicket-taker in Test cricket.”

In a video shared on their (ICC) website, former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara has recalled a few moments when he had played against the legendary Indian leg-spinner as well. He said, “Kumble has given me a few sleepless nights”.

“He was not your orthodox leg-spinner. This big, tall gangly bowler running in and bowling with a very high arm action. It was not at all easy to get him away for runs,” Sangakkara further added.
Anil Kumble has played in 132 Tests for India and claiming 619 wickets that also included 35 five-wicket hauls as well. The spin legend also played in 271 One Day International matches for Team India with 337 wickets to his name as well. Notably, he is at third place in the all-time leading wicket-takers in Test matches just behind Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan and Australian spin maestro Shane Warne.

However, the International Cricket Council has launched ICC Hall of Fame month on Instagram where they celebrate some of the legends of the game as well. They started the celebrations with some great cricketing moments of former New Zealand captain Martin Crowe’s achievements in the game earlier this month as well.
