The last couple of months have been tough for the Indian people with the deadly second wave of Covid-19. Almost 2 lakh new case have been emerging every day, while a lot of people losing their lives to the deadly virus. Fortunately, many prominent firms and celebrities have come forward in these testing times to help the needy ones. While several big names have been providing oxygen concentrators, many distributed food, and other necessities. Mitali Raj and her father have also contributed to the noble cause.
On Wednesday, the Indian women cricket team skipper took to Twitter and shared a picture of her father, Dorai Raj, distributing food to the auto drivers. Last year, Mithali Raj has come forward to start helping needy people with food and other essentials amid the testing times. As the veteran cricketer is away from home now, her father is leaving no stone unturned in fulfilling the duties. While Mithali lauded her dad for keeping up the good work, the talismanic batter also took a dig at him for not wearing the mask properly.

Taking a dig at her father, Mithali Raj had tweeted, “Distribution of food grains and a small amount for sustenance being given to auto drivers by the Mithali raj initiative, something I started last year to do my bit in these COVID times. Dad doing the honors in my absence. The only problem is his mask.”

Meanwhile, Mithali Raj is currently undergoing quarantine in Mumbai ahead of the Indian team’s tour of England. Both the Indian men and women’s teams would travel to England on June 2 through a chartered flight. While Virat Kohli and his men would spend another isolation period in Southampton, the women’s team is likely to stay in Bristol.
It will be a full-fledged tour for the India Women team with one Test, three ODIs, and as many T20Is lined up. Hence, the Women in Blue must gear up to lock horns with England team in their own den. While Mithali will lead the Test and ODI team, Harmanpreet Kaur will handle the reins of the T20I side.

Meanwhile, the Indian women team recently locked horns with South Africa at home, and they didn’t have a memorable series. They lost the ODIs 1-4 before facing a 1-2 defeat in T20Is. Hence, it would be interesting to see if they can change their fortunes against England.
