Legendary Indian cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar took to Instagram on Friday to wish the veteran Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Dinesh Karthik, who will be making his debut in the commentary box, during the World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand that will be commencing on June 18.
Sunil Gavaskar shared a picture with Karthik and wrote “He made his India Test debut when I was a consultant to the Indian cricket team. Now he will make his commentary debut with the WTC finals. I’m sure he will do well in the box too. Good luck @dk00019 !”

In the comment section, the wicket-keeper batsman thanked Gavaskar for his “blessings”. Karthik wrote: “Will be glad to be alongside you, thanks for the blessings sir.” India are set to take on New Zealand in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, beginning at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton from June 18.

Team India landed at the Heathrow airport in London on Thursday and now they are undergoing a mandatory three-day quarantine for three days. After completing the hard quarantine, the players will be allowed to train in small groups.
On the other hand, India’s WTC final opponents New Zealand are currently locking horns with England in a two-match Test series.

Many Indian players including captain Virat Kohli, his deputy Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma shared pictures from the Southampton stadium’s hotel on social media. After the WTC final, India will be locking horns with England in a five-match Test series, starting on August 4 with the final Test match to begin on September 10.
