Chahal was last seen playing cricket during the Indian Premier League 2021. He wasn’t bowling at his usual best for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season despite his team doing exceptionally well this year before the league was suspended.

After covid-19 cases emerged from different teams, BCCI decided the inevitable by suspending the season indefinitely. Now, the remaining games and four knockout games will be played in the United Arab Emirates between September and October.

Chahal is in line to be picked in the Indian squad that will tour Sri Lanka in July for the white-ball series. Team India will play three ODIs and three T20Is on the tour.
