Sri Lanka suffered yet another forgettable loss against the Indian team in the ODI series. The Men in Blue started the series opener with a dominating seven-wicket win over the hosts in Colombo. They gained confidence from the first win and continued to channelize their aggression in the second game as well. However, Sri Lankans tried their best to suppress India’s dominance by scoring as many as 275 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs.
Asalanka was the pick of the batsmen for the hosts as he amassed 65 off 68 balls. Avishka Fernando scored a half-century at the top while Chamika Karunaratne played another unbeaten knock of 33-ball 44 to steer the Lankan team to a good total. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal took three wickets apiece. Deepak Chahar also scalped a couple of wickets. In reply, Team India got off to a sluggish start to the game as they lost openers – Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw went out cheaply.

The top-order found it really tough to tackle with the Lankan bowling attack. Wanindu Hasaranga was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka as he scalped 3 crucial wickets in his quota of 10 overs. He conceded only 37 runs at an economy of 3.70. Suryakumar Yadav provided stability in the middle order by scoring a half-century. However, Deepak Chahar (69) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (19) stitched a brilliant partnership of 84 runs for the eighth wicket and steered the team past the finishing line.
Meanwhile, a Sri Lanka cricket fan “Daniel Alexander” has been doing the rounds on social media after India’s win. He often tweets against Team India on his Twitter handle and the Indian fans leave no stone unturned to roast him for his biased opinions.

When Sri Lanka was in a winning position in the second ODI against India, he posted a tweet: “Sri Lanka > India”. However, Indian players proved him wrong by churning out an improbable win. Soon after India won the game and the series by 2-0, the Twitter user regretted his mistake and deleted his tweet.
