Ahead of the series opener, Umesh Yadav sounded optimistic and said every player is ready to receive a last-minute call-up.
“As a team, we are growing together. Some years back, there was a lot of chopping and changing that happened. Now, everything is in place. Thanks to our captain and coach, the team has been settled now,” Yadav told Times of India.
“We have players who have played almost 50 plus Tests. We have a mature and well-balanced side. We all know what we have to do. Every player in the team is ready for a last-minute call-up and is confident of performing.”

The speedster believes England will come hard at India after losing the Test series by 1-3 earlier this year. He believes, though, India have good plans for England and will come out victorious in the series.
“I am confident that we will defeat them. It will be a close fight in England. I am really excited and looking forward to taking as many English wickets as possible. We also have our plans for them,” he added.
Virat Kohli and his troops will be eager to finally win a Test series in England after being beaten on the last three occasions. Rahul Dravid’s team was the last Indian side to win a Test series in England back in 2007.
