Team India opener Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara did not take the field for India on Day 4 of the Oval Test against England. However, They both have a minor injury scare and the duo have been advised to take rest as a precautionary measure, and this was confirmed by the BCCI.

However, Rohit Sharma and Pujara stitched a 153-run stand for the second wicket on Day 3, which helped India take a huge lead. Notably, Pujara had sprained his ankle while taking a single and he was looking in discomfort also before being dismissed for 61 as well.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma registered one of his best knocks of 127 runs which put the team in a strong position. During the knock, he had also sustained a minor injury to his left knee and complained of discomfort as well. And, to make sure about their well being, they didn’t aggravate their injuries by taking the field for the final session on Sunday.

However, the Indian medical team has been assessing them and further calls will be taken soon as well.

Team India has given a massive target of 368 to the England side. Although the pitch is quite flat the target looks huge for them as well. Meanwhile, former Pakistan player Danish Kaneria was not happy with the way India bowled in the final session of the fourth day at The Oval. Notably, they failed to take a wicket and now they have only the final day to dismiss them. He also slammed India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane for his poor show.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Kaneria said: “Virat Kohli and the bowlers need to sit down and have a really good plan for bowling on Day 5 and take wickets. England have a strong batting unit. India can only win the match if they bowl in the right areas because the wicket is really good for batting now, the ball is coming onto the bat, but they need to contain. This match is the decider of the series.”
