Veteran Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh, has turned 36 today. There will not be a better day of the year which would tend to make one think of his six sixes (the first batsman to do so in T20Is) off Stuart Broad during the 21st match of ICC World Twenty20 in 2007 at Durban.
Having won the toss, MS Dhoni, the then Indian captain, had elected to bat. India were provided with a rocketing start by openers Gautam Gambhir (58) and Virender Sehwag (68). Yuvraj came in to bat in the 17th over when Robin Uthappa (6) was bowled by Chris Tremlett.
What followed was beyond anyone’s imagination. Yuvraj went berserk in the 19th over being bowled by Stuart Broad. He hit the right-arm fast bowler for six consecutive sixes on his way to the fastest T20I half-century (off 12 balls).
He ended up scoring 58 (16) with the help of three fours and seven sixes. Watch the full video:
