As the league games are going to end soon and playoff matches will begin in the Indian Premier League from Sunday, three teams have sealed their places already, including the three-time champion – Chennai Super Kings. However, before the all-important playoff, CSK got a big blow as their key batsman Suresh Raina is uncertain to play.
Notably, Suresh Raina has been out of the last two games of IPL 14 due to injury. And, there is no clear information on how serious his injury is. However, as per the media reports, Suresh Raina may not take part in the playoff where they will play against Delhi Capitals.
Meanwhile, team coach Stephen Fleming also has not shared any update on Suresh Raina’s injury. He revealed after the defeat at the hands of Punjab Kings, “Nothing can be said about Suresh Raina right now. I have no idea about how serious Suresh Raina’s injury is.”

On the other hand, CSK has named Robin Uthappa as a replacement for Suresh Raina in the team in the last two games as well. Robin Uthappa, however, has failed to do well in both matches.
After their defeat to Punjab, MS Dhoni said: “You have to cope (when it comes to mental or skill aspect) up with that. We had played very good cricket to reach the playoff stages. We had a few bad games 2 out of 3 and one we felt like we could have a comeback and that’s part and parcel d in leagues like these, you have to be at your best.

Motivation is not a factor, the guys are highly motivated and maybe we need to tune up slightly as to what needs to be done and also a few tosses if they had gone our way. It would have looked worse winning toss and batting on that wicket and I felt the wicket changed a bit, it was a bit challenging but it was a good wicket.”
