The Indian Premier League 2021 has reached its business end as the league phase of the tournament is completed. Sunrisers Hyderabad turned out to be the wooden spoon holder this time as they managed to win only three matches this year. The form, or lack of form, of David Warner, was the catalyst in this major drop in form.
SRH have been finding their way into the playoffs for a number of consecutive years. Warner has been phenomenal since joining them and had scored a plethora of runs. But he saw a massive dip this year and eventually he was sacked from captaincy before Kane Williamson filling in.

Now, as the season has come to an end for SRH, they uploaded a video on their social media platform where several players are thanking the fans for their constant support despite not having results to show.
Skipper Kane Williamson, head coach Trevor Bayliss, VVS Laxman and Muttiah Muralitharan along with others were seen in the video as they thanked the fans for the overwhelming support throughout the season.
Warner was a notable absentee from this video. This led fans to question his absence. Replying to the same, Warner said he wasn’t asked to shoot the video.

The fallout between SRH and Warner has been visible for quite some time now. After being removed from the captaincy, he was dropped from the playing XI before the IPL 2021 came to a halt. In the second leg, Warner started in the playing XI but the drought of runs seemed never-ending and got dropped again.

He wasn’t even being taken to the grounds for the matches and several things suggested that this might be it for both the parties. Warner posted a heartwarming post yesterday which suggested he might not return for the next season.
